March 2023 Auto Recalls

Safety on the roads should be a top priority for everyone, and while driving safely is an important factor, the safety of your vehicle matters just as much. While today’s vehicles are equipped with top of the line safety features, vehicle recalls can happen every day. Make sure you stay up to date with auto recalls to ensure that your vehicle is ready to roll on the roads.

According to data provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the following recalls were issued in March. If you find your vehicle on this list, contact your dealership for further information about the steps to take relating to your specific recall defect.

2021-2023 Chrysler Dodge Durango Vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 139,019
Defect: A damaged rear spoiler can detach and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

2022 Rivian R1T and R1S vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 12,716
Defect: Failure of the air bag to deploy as intended increases the risk of injury to the front passenger during a crash.

2004-2006 Ford Ranger vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 98,550
Defect:An incorrectly installed inflator may not properly inflate the passenger air bag, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

2018-2023 Chrysler Jeep Wrangler and 2020-2023 Jeep Gladiator vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 69,201
Defect: Overheated clutch components may increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, damage to other nearby components can result in debris falling onto the road or a loss of drive, increasing the risk of a crash.

2023 Nissan Infiniti QX60 vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 17
Defect:A seat that becomes stuck or fails to lock in a secured position may not properly restrain the occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

2022-2023 BMW vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 120
Defect: BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2023 330i, 330i xDrive, M340i, M340i xDrive, M3, 330e, 330e xDrive, 430i Convertible, 430i xDrive, M440i, 2022-2023 430i, 430i xDrive, M440i xDrive, i4 eDrive40, and i4 M50 vehicles. During a service visit, a replacement electronic control unit (ECU) may have been installed with incorrect programming, which can cause the automatic door locking (ADL) function to not lock the doors as intended.

2022-2023 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 8,989
Defect: A software error in the combination meter’s electronic control unit (ECU) may cause the Instrument Panel LCD display to go blank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, “Control and Displays.”

2022-2023 Tesla Model Y vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 3,470
Defect: The bolts securing the second-row seat back frames may not have been securely tightened.

2023 Nissan Ariya Vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 1,063
Defect: The steering wheel bolt may have been tightened incorrectly or not installed.

2012-2013 Hyundai Veloster vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 26,169
Defect: High conductive liquid may leak into the Reverse Park Aid Sensor (RPAS), which can result in an electrical short circuit.

2023 Ford F-150, Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 240
Defect: The front axle pinion may not have been heat-treated, which can cause it to fracture.

2023 Land Rover Defender 130 Vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 812
Defect: The third-row seatback latch may not latch properly, reducing the strength of a child seat installed to the top tether.

2022-2023 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 130,266
Defect: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles that may be equipped with a Toyota genuine accessory tonneau cover. The tonneau cover attachment joints may come loose and allow the cover to detach.

2023 Kia K5 vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 188,912
Defect: The side curtain air bags may have been installed incorrectly, causing them not to deploy properly in the event of a crash.

2022-2023 Rivian R1S vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 30
Defect: The fasteners that secure the right and left side curtain air bags may be improperly secured.

Certain Honda CR-V, Accord and Accord Hybrid, Odyssey, Insight, and Acura RDX vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 448,613
Defect: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2020 CR-V, 2018-2019 Accord and Accord Hybrid, 2018-2020 Odyssey, 2019 Insight, and 2019-2020 Acura RDX vehicles. A manufacturing issue with the front seat belts may cause the seat belt buckle channel to interfere with the release button, preventing the seat belt buckle from latching.

2020-2021 Bentley Continental GTC vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 1,610
Defect: Due to a sharp edge on the air bag deflector bracket, the seat air bags may tear during deployment. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 214, “Side Impact Protection,” and 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”

2023 Ford Bronco Wildtrak and 2022 Bronco Raptor vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 343
Defect: Internal damage to the steering gear may require increased steering effort or cause the steering wheel to lock-up.

2013-2018 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 1,280,726
Defect: The front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid.

2021 Ford F-150 vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 222,454
Defect: The windshield wiper arms may break, causing the windshield wipers to fail.

2019-2023 Hyundai Santa Fe, 2021-2023 Santa Fe HEV, 2022-2023 Santa Fe Plug-in HEV and Santa Cruz vehicles

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 567,912
Defect: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Santa Fe, 2021-2023 Santa Fe HEV, 2022-2023 Santa Fe Plug-in HEV and Santa Cruz vehicles potentially equipped with a tow hitch harness installed as original equipment, or purchased as an accessory through a Hyundai dealership. Water accumulation on the tow hitch harness module printed circuit board (PCB) may cause an electrical short, which can result in a fire.

2022-2023 Audi Q4 E-Tron SUV and Q4 E-Tron Sportback vehicle

Year: 2023
Units Recalled: 5,224
Defect: During deployment, the head curtain air bag could deform the door seal and expose the metal inlay within the seal, which could tear the air bag. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 226, “Ejection Mitigation.”
