The former City Sports Center ice skating rink is being refurbished into a 75,000 sq. ft. indoor soccer arena called the Detroit City Fieldhouse. Its main occupants will be its creators, the Detroit City Futbol League (DCFL). The DCFL is an adult recreational soccer league that formed in 2010, currently has 32 teams, and over 1,000 players. Although DCFL will be using the arena, it will also be available for multi-use sport options. The Detroit City Fieldhouse will have a main clubhouse that oversees both fields as well as a full kitchen and bar. It can be found in the Elmwood Park neighborhood located at 3401 E. Lafayette St. and is expected to open on September 1st.
