Jason O’Banner, better known by his artist name Kid Jay, is an up-and-coming rapper from Ypsilanti, Michigan who’s trying to inject more positivity into the hip-hop space. Kid Jay recently sat down with Mike to discuss the beginnings of his rap career, and how he started recording songs after kids would gather around him in high school and ask him to freestyle for them. He talks about why he doesn’t swear in his music, how he aims to set a positive example for younger musicians, and he even performs the 855-Mike-Wins rap!
