Sophia Abelson graduated from Xavier University magna cum laude with a BSBA in Entrepreneurial Studies in 2019. While at Xavier, she received various athletic and academic awards, including the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award, the Student Leadership Award, and the Big East Sports Excellence Award. She then went on to earn her law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she received the Law and Leadership distinction, served as an Executive Justice on the Moot Court Governing Board, a Board Fellow for the Alzheimer’s Association, and a Peer Mentor for incoming law students. Sophia also received the CALI Award of Excellence in Transactional Practice.
While at Ohio State, Sophia procured a position at a small plaintiff personal injury firm and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Elizabeth Gill (Franklin County Domestic and Juvenile Division). In addition, Sophia worked as a law clerk at DHL on various corporate matters. After graduation, she worked as an attorney fellow at Moog – focusing on aerospace and defense contracts and licensing agreements.
At the Mike Morse Law Firm, Sophia brings her legal knowledge and varied experiences to the pre-litigation department, where she focuses on developing cases, working with clients to settle cases prior to filing suits, and preparing cases for the litigation process. Sophia holds licenses in Michigan and Ohio.
In her free time, Sophia enjoys all things sports. As a former Division 1 Tennis Team Captain and Big East Champion, you can find her most frequently on the tennis or pickleball court or the golf course. She also enjoys cheering on all Detroit Sports Teams, spending time with family and friends, binging a good TV show, and baking.
